The sale is still being judged after the building arrives. A useful follow-up helps the customer use what they bought and gives them a clear way to resolve anything unfinished.
The original series ended with a five-star review. The better operating objective is an accurately completed job and an honest account of the experience. The rating belongs to the customer.
Start with the actual delivery
Use the completion record to understand what happened. If the crew left an unresolved item, the follow-up should acknowledge it and identify the next action.
Do not send a celebratory review request while an open service issue is being ignored. Equally, do not use a customer’s dissatisfaction to hide their opportunity to provide public feedback.
Keep support and feedback available as normal parts of the service.
Make the conversation useful
Ask whether the delivered building matches the agreement and whether the customer needs help with the supplied care information. Be specific enough that a reply can lead to action.
A support worker should see the relevant order revision and earlier communication. The customer should not have to explain the same issue to each new person.
If an AI system summarizes the record, preserve access to the underlying messages. A summary can omit a qualification or misstate a promise.
Invite honest feedback
For U.S. businesses, the FTC’s review-rule guidance addresses fake reviews and incentives conditioned on positive or negative sentiment. Do not write customer reviews with AI or offer a reward for a particular rating.
Use a neutral invitation after a real customer experience. Follow the review platform’s applicable policies and avoid selectively steering only satisfied customers toward public reviews.
The aim is credible feedback, including criticism that identifies a real weakness.
Respond without exposing the customer
A public response should acknowledge the issue, explain an appropriate next step, and move private order details into an appropriate support channel. Do not publish addresses, payment details, or private correspondence to win an argument.
Review AI-drafted responses before sending them. A fluent apology can still promise a refund or remedy the business has not authorized.
Keep the actual resolution attached to the service record. A polished public reply does not complete the underlying work.
Learn from patterns
Track recurring problems in a way that leads back to the responsible process. A repeated delivery surprise may require a better access survey. Confusion about included options may require a clearer quote.
Measure whether the problem declines after the change. Review volume and average stars are incomplete measures of service quality.
A good post-sale workflow respects the customer’s time and gives the business a chance to improve. The strongest recommendation is the one a customer can make truthfully, in their own words.
Keep a good idea close.
